At Buck Mountain, we stand against domestic and gender-based violence — because what happens beyond our classrooms walks in with us every day.
Wearing a moose hide pin is more than a symbol. It’s a pledge: to yourself, to your community, and to a future free from violence.
As part of today’s ceremony, Mr. Caron and students will lead our walk to the lake, guided by escapios — helpers — in Cree tradition. We walk behind them, in respect and unity. At the lake, we’ll honour victims and survivors with a short ceremony. Those who wish may offer sacred tobacco to the healing waters.
As we walk, reflect on what it means to build a community where survivors feel supported and seen.
Let’s walk together — with courage, compassion, and purpose.
